Hey!

My name is Vlad (Vladislav), I'm 24 years old and I am originally from a small town near Moscow. The town's called Checkhov and it takes its name from Anton Chekhov - a famous Russian playwright and short-story writer, who lived in that area from 1892 to 1899.

I enjoy reading, learning languages (I have a bachelor's degree in Chinese language & history and was lucky to spend one semester at Shenzhen University). I also love traveling and fond of doing it around the beautiful island called Taiwan, where I am doing my master's degree at NCCU (Russian Studies). Taiwan has a unique and diverse history, culture, and the kindest people I have ever met, so you definitely should consider putting it on your travel bucket list!

When I've got free time, I usually just go for a long walk, meet with friends, go to local museums/galleries or do some sport. I'm also quite passionate about the "plane spotting" and Taipei is a great place to do it, because its Songshan airport is located almost in the middle of the city, so I often go there and watch the planes.
I try to explore more places while staying here, but since it rains a lot in Taipei, it can be hard to motivate myself to leave the house hahah

My all-time favorite tv-series are Grey's anatomy, Parks and Recreation, and the Crown. As for the books, I don't have any favorite genre and just read whatever seems interesting to me. Some of the last books I've read: "Are You with Me?: Kevin Boyle and the Rise of the Human Rights Movement" by Mike Chinoy, "Americana" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, “On earth we’re briefly gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong, 《寂寞的游戏》（袁哲生）、《深圳人》、《遗弃》、《希拉里密和我》（薛忆沩）、《断代》（郭强生）、 《小偷家族》（是枝裕和）等。

I'm happy to get any postcard you choose for me but if you are stuck for ideas, check my favourites or send something that represents your country and its culture (anything with airplanes/airports and the British Royal family would also be great!).

You can write to me about absolutely everything: some facts about you or your family, your country, or maybe something that inspires you. I really enjoy reading long stories written on postcards.

我來自俄國，目前在台灣的國立政治大學讀俄羅斯研究所。看到這裡你可能會覺得有點驚訝：為何一俄國人要跑到台灣讀這樣的科系呢？？其實很簡單，有時候換個角度去看問題可以改變你對一件事情的看法，而當我用外國人的視角去研究自己的國家時，就會發現很多我以前可能根本不會想到的事情 :) 同時還可以幫當地人打破一些關於俄國的刻板印象（尤其是現在）。

希望透過 postcrossing可以認識更多有趣的人、了解不一樣的世界。
