I'm a forty something Brit originally from the Sussex coast but I've been living in London for 20+ years so must be a Londoner by now! I live next to the beautiful river Lea so even though I'm in the big city I can almost fool myself that I'm in the country. I love the river and enjoy cycling, walking, running, bird watching (both along the river and elsewhere) and have even been a rower in the past! For swimming I go to the ponds on Hampstead Heath - there's nothing like a cold dip in the middle of winter!
As you've probably gathered I'm very much an outdoor person. I also love history, art and culture and enjoy combining these - e.g. a weekend visit to a castle or stately home with a long walk and ideally a pub lunch. I also love travel, to the extent my annual leave quota allows! I enjoy lots of different holidays, e.g. skiing, relaxing in the sun, cruises, railway trips, city breaks, hiking - anything really! When I can't get away, I try to make the most of our wonderful capital city and go to as many exhibitions, plays and concerts etc. that I can. And of course, it's great eating out in London or just going for a drink with friends - there are so many wonderful pubs, bars and restaurants.
I have many interests but not enough time to pursue them properly. I enjoy drawing (especially portraits), languages, cooking, and playing the violin. I also love reading and run a German language book club here in London.
I've been postcrossing for a few months now and am totally addicted. I just can't wait to drop the next card into the post box and see what lands through my letter box. I'm happy to get any card you choose to send and love reading your messages. It's great connecting with so many people and already I have received book recommendations, baking tips, ideas for my next holiday, and best of all a small insight into other people's lives. Feel free to write in any of the languages above, or even in another language if English is a struggle - if I can't find someone to translate I'll rely on Mr Google.
Thanks in advance for your card and happy postcrossing!
