Hello. We are JL & Jillian Johnson.
What to send us?
Whatever you like! We prefer airline/airport related but most anything is great.
We have a son, two dogs, an evil black cat and some chickens. We are big time postcard fans and only recently discovered PostCrossing at the urging of our friend Fabian (his user name here is Bfabian.) We love to play match maker when reading profiles and digging through our postcards for the perfect fit. It’s great fun and we put a lot of thought into it hoping to deliver smiles just as many do for us. What a great global community we have!
My wife and I identify as aviation geeks or as insiders call it "AvGeeks." We love planes, airlines, airports and history.
Possible writing prompts:
- Have you heard of Missouri?
- What’s your favorite or most memorable trip?
- Anything in your pantry or refrigerator that are staples beyond the basics? Ours are salsas and hot sauces. We love Cholula and Chipotle Tabasco.
Most postcards will be sent not from our home in the suburbs of Kansas City, MO, but from somewhere else. We love to travel and are lucky to average a trip or two each month most years. We spent 2020 grounded and at home but have since been fully vaccinated (team Pfizer) and are back at it.
Most of our trips are short, just a few days. We generally manage to check our PO Box 2-3 times per week and usually are so excited to get a postcard that we register and reply while still parked at the post office.
Our all-time favorite postcard is one we found at an antique shop near Jillian's hometown in Connecticut. It features our home airport- Kansas City International Airport (MCI/KMCI) when it first opened. A lot has changed since the airport began passenger operations in 1972, and it is very cool to have this piece of history in our collection.

PS: Jillian likes the Oxford comma. Apparently JL does not! ;-)
