About Penny...

Hello, my name is Penny, I live in rural Tasmania. The population of my village is 197 people, and it is a very beautiful place to live. The earth here is very fertile, we grow mostly potatoes, peas, and medical grade poppies.

I work in a Post Office in my nearest town and I love seeing postcards from different countries. I enjoy showing the postcards I receive to my customers encouraging them to join Postcrossing.

I live with my husband Dale, we have a dog called Dory, an old, very beautiful black cat called Jet and two pet rescue pigs called Tricksy and Peppa.

Life in Tasmania is so wonderful - I am very lucky, especially during this odd time in the world we live in, to have a supportive close community to rely on.

Thank you for sending me a postcard, I really love receiving each and every one of them, being constantly delighted by information from afar. The longest length of time that a postcard I have sent took 260 days from Australia to Turkey (pre COVID 19 days)

Stay safe everyone - Penny.

P.S. I’m older than the song!

Longest travelling postcard I sent = 260 days Australia to Turkey
Longest travelling postcard I received = 246 days Japan to Australia
