I am a scientist, avid bookshop hunter, tea drinker, and inveterate scribbler living in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I find anything esoteric and unusual fascinating. This can range from the minutiae of biochemical pathways and history of science to systematic categorizations of fairy tales and obscure art movements. Postcards, to me, are sort of like a paper version of the cabinet of curiosities. I’m interested in discovering the stories behind places and cultures. Is there a piece of folklore or superstition that isn’t known very well outside of your country? Why is an unusual piece of art or architecture famous? How do your local animals and plants fit into your life? Is there a book that is seriously underrated and needs more recognition?

It may seem daunting for those who like guidance that I have not included a long list of preferences like most profiles, however I'm more interested in postcards that reflect the personality of the sender and what they find worthy of being a “curio”, so it's totally up to you what card you send and what you decide to write on the other side. Overall, I like surprising postcards in the mail, so surprise me! I would definitely like to hear how it is in your part of the world!
