About Susan...

I love to travel, and I'm interested in learning about different places and cultures through postcards and stories from Postcrossing members. I live in a small town in Alabama, and I work at a small, local nonprofit organization.

I enjoy designing postcards, and I have a Zazzle shop. If you're interested, you can see my travel cards by visiting http://globalvillagecards.susandjones.com or check out http://vadenjonesgifts.susandjones.com to see illustrated pet postcards.

I like to receive any kind of postcards, but cards that share something unique about you or the place that you are from are my favorite.

Friends outside the US, I’ll be excited about a postcard that shows me or tells me about your country’s food, holidays, landscape, national dress, unique customs or traditions, etc. Please tell me something about your life on the back. (No need to worry about your English skills. I have taught ESL and will understand what you mean!)

Advertisement cards in languages other than English are ok with me, but please send a little of the translation and tell me where and why you picked up the card. Christian-themed cards (religious holiday cards, Bible verses, etc.) are also fine.

For those who find it easier to see a list of preferences, a few very specific postcard themes that I’d be excited to receive are:
- Women’s suffrage, women's history, women's achievements
- Classic country music (anything pre-2000)
- Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, or other soft drink memorabilia
- 1980s cartoons (Smurfs, etc.)
- Anything related to The Olympics

I also enjoy these general categories of postcards that you probably already have in your “to be sent” stack:
- Sunsets and sunrises
- Night cityscapes
- Christmas and snow scenes
- Rivers, streams, and lakes
- Tourist attractions
- National or state parks
- UNESCO World Heritage Sites

If you don’t have any of those, feel free to send something that YOU like. I really will be happy with whatever you choose as long as it’s G-rated. Please do NOT send postcards with sexually explicit content, nudity, violence, or illegal drug references or images.

Thank you and happy postcrossing! I’ll be looking forward to hearing from you.
