About Marek...

Hello,

my name is Marek. I’m 25 years old and I’m a student of chemistry at Masaryk University in Brno. I live in a small village not far from Česká Skalice in a homeland of the Czech famous novelists like B. Němcová, K. Čapek or A. Jirásek. You sure read R.U.R. or The Grandma in a school reading... :D My homeland is full of beautiful cultural and natural monuments like a pearl of the Czech baroque, Kuks Hospital, Josefov Fortress, Adršpach-Teplice Rocks or "sea" of the East Bohemia, Rozkoš Dam (ENG: "Delight Dam").

My hobbies include cycling, swimming, traveling, geography, gardening, reading: I love adventure literature and crime fiction - Jules Verne, Agatha Christie, Dan Brown and many others. I also like to learn new languages - English, French, Egyptian hieroglyphs and a year ago I started learning Chinese. I like to listen to music: not only rock and pop but also a classical music (especially when learning).

I would like to receive cards with:

* cultural and natural sights (castles, bridges, towers, lighthouses, mills, rocks, waterfalls...)
* university and library buildings
* your town/region, typical multiview cards
* famous people of your region/country
* local/national cuisine
* folk customs, traditions, sports
* typical flowers or animals of your country
* fairy tale and film characters (Walt Disney...), superheroes (Marvel...)
* mythical and horror figures (Elves, werewolves, vampires..)
* Christmas and New Year cards (in December/January)
* Birthday cards (in January/February)
* Inge Löök illustrations (especially aunties - I have cards No.: 8, 10, 11,
12, 20, 23, 32, 37, 43, 53, 58, 63)
* Leonid Afremov illustrations
* Rachel Ignotofsky illustrations (especially Women in science)

But I’ll be very glad for any card. All cards are welcome :D

I’ll be pleased if you write something in your mother tongue (but with English translation please :D).

Please, date your cards and put down your name.

PS: Dear Cyrillic-using postcrossers, please give your address in Cyrillic - cards with an address written in Cyrillic are delivered faster than cards with an address written in Latin.

Happy Postcrossing!
