About Stephanie...

I am a Taiwanese American currently doing my Master's in Education at the University of Edinburgh in the lovely, amazing city of Edinburgh, Scotland. I've lived and worked in education in various countries around Asia, which allowed me to combine my lifelong passion for reading, my professional interest in innovative forms of literacy education, and my love of travel.

My greatest passion is reading and writing. My favorite authors are Melina Marchetta, Ilona Andrews, Cath Crowley, David Mitchell, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and L. M. Montgomery, though I'll give anything a try. I love snail mail and have kept a journal since I was five, so I especially love reading the correspondences and journals of people who came before me. I'm also interested in photography, hiking, nature, travel, and music. One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is to explore my city for a few hours, then find a semi-busy cafe, and sit and write--letters, postcards, stories, journal entries, anything--with the gentle buzz of conversation or music around me.

I have a soft spot for colorful, artsy, or more unusual postcards, as well as those featuring:

- anything to do with books: people reading, libraries, etc.
- illustration/sketch cards about your country or culture
- colorful or unusual artwork
- mailboxes, old letters/mail/stamps, people writing
- artwork inspired by Studio Ghibli
- Anne of Green Gables
- Alice in Wonderland
- fairy tale / fantasy art
- children's book illustrations
- sky lanterns (天燈)
- metro/subway/underground maps
- license plates
- something iconic about your country or city
- illustrated trains
- fall foliage
- clouds
- sweeping landscape views of mountains, meadows, and sunsets over water
- illustrated whales, red pandas, or otters
- quirky "Keep Calm" cards
- handmade cards

I also love STAMPS! If you can send your postcard with a cool stamp, this budding philatelist would be super grateful. :)

On your postcard, feel free to recommend me a book, tell me a favorite quote, or write something about yourself or your everyday life that can make me feel as if I'm seeing your home through your eyes. For me, the postcard image and your words combined help form the valuable idea of who you are and what is important to you. Thank you very much!
