About Sonja...

My name is Sonja and I live in Groningen. I love to read, do some shopping (farmers market, home decoshops, eg), experiment with recipies from all over the world and most of all, I love to travel.
When traveling I like to see local architecture, city live and impressive nature (love sea and lighthouses). Before leaving on a new adventure I love planning a new trip on old and new maps -are there postcards with a map on it from your neighbourhood? please send it to me!

What happened while I'm postcrossing?

The first postcard I've send has arived. Love it! Knowing the card I send reached it's destination is almost as fun as receiving a postcard myself....

Yeeaahh, what a pleasure to receive postcards from al over the world; From places I would like to visit! By the way, my first project in the artclass is finished. I painted a happy elephant. One of my favorite animals.

A nice idea I've read at someones profile: cut a local food cardboard box in a 10x15 square and send it to me as a postcard!! I'm very interrested in packaging. Please, give me a look into your local supermarket!

20 march 2012, (it is spring at last!!)
New suggestion: If you don't know what to send to me, send anything BLUE. I love that color.

Change of job, growing into new habbits took some time and adjustment. But hé, here I am again. I miss sending lots of postcards and writing letters. Although close friends still send and get litlle presents once in a while delivered by the post(wo)men.

No one will ever loose its love for snailmail. I do sent happymail to friends every now and then. But suddenly I realised I had to put a little more love in my postcrossing account too. So here I am again.

Today, on my way to the mailbox, I decided to take my car and go to one of the farms in my neighbourhood. They where letting the cows go out into the field after a long winter. Have you ever seen the cows dance? It was so fun.

I was taking it slowly the last years but as you can see I almost sended a 1000 cards. It is time to pass that point.
My quest for 2022 is to stop buying single use plastic. Why should I get a plastic grocery bag as I can bring my own linnen bag? Why wrap a cucumber in plastic since it has its own skin to protect it?
Do you have good habits which contribute to a good environment? Please tell me about it on the card you sent to me.

Thank you WORLD for sending me nice (homemade) postcards and greetings!!

Sonja
