About Sarah...

I'm easy going & love a good story. Sometimes you have to make one of your own.
I like to travel when I can afford it, and I usually like it even more when I can’t afford it. I have been interested in lighthouses since I was 8 years old. I'll travel out of my way if I can see one or climb to the top of one. I am also known for dropping by cemeteries, the older the better. My connection with cemeteries preexists my birth, I didn't know until a few years ago that my mother picked my name out from a headstone. I also love old buildings, old gadgets, old stuff in general.
Seeing wildlife and the Earth's natural beauty is a favorite of mine. There's nothing like the breathtaking view from the top of a mountain or jumping into a freezing waterfall. Being able to watch the birds soaring as they hunt or a deer feeding under an apple tree is nothing short of amazing.

If you are at a loss of what to write don’t fret, let me give you some ideas!

What's your favorite outdoor activity? I love hiking and camping. I’m not coordinated enough for competitive sports. Kayaking is fun. Naps on the beach is an outdoor activity right?
Do you grow a garden? I tried my first garden last year, it went ok. What I ate was delicious. What the woodchuck ate didn’t keep him away, so it must have been good.
Do you have any stories of odd things that have happened to you? I think I saw Bigfoot cross the road in front of me once. I also tripped going down the stairs one time and ended up hanging upside down by my foot, I’m certain I couldn’t do it again if I tried.
Do you have a fascination with a history? I’m most interested in WWII, but I also dabble in the American Revolution and Civil War.
Do you have any hobbies? I enjoy geocaching, genealogy (most my family is from England, Ireland or Czechoslovakia), board games and puzzles. I also love to make lists… I could make a list of the lists I make!
Do you have any odd locations near you? When I travel I love to find quirky spots to see. I have visited: a town that has a fire underground, the only nuclear bomb crater in the US, stairs that go to nowhere, a doctors bag that was the size of a house, where Stonewall Jackson’s left arm is buried and a filing cabinet on the side of the road that was at least 30 feet tall.

In our house we are slowly learning Spanish and German, we wouldn't mind having to try to translate a little bit.
Other languages are fun to see as well, but please include translations if you think we need it.

If you have sent me a postcard and it has expired please send me a message letting me know. The card may have genuinely been lost in transit or it could be sitting at a house 2 miles up the road. My Sister In Law and I have the same name and live on the same road. Her mail is delivered first so she ends up getting my mail occasionally. The mail lady tries to be careful but accidents happen. So if your card has expired I'll be sure to ask if I have any mail they are holding.
