I come from a small mediterranean city that was thousands of years ago the land of a great ancient civilization called "Ugarit : أوغاريت " which presented the first written alphabet to the world (30 cuneiform letters ).
Everytime & everywhere, anytime & anywhere, every culture is fascinating in its own way..
I may have a fair knowledge about your country or culture in general, but you may have a vague background about mine! Syria is one of the richest lands in the world in terms of archaeological & ancient sites. So, I'd like to grab the opportunity to be a non-official "spokesperson" of my country via postcrossing ! That's why I was hoping to be lucky enough to make long-term friendships when I accidentally joined this fabulous site. I adore children's literature . I grew up watching classic Japanese cartoons & I still have sweet clinging to those memories ( I'll reveal to you a secret that it has always been my dream to be a children's writer!) It would be great if you have interests like mine ( other than most postcrossers' hobbies such as travelling & learning about cultures ), like metaphysics/ reading / writing / music (almost all genres especially rock & alternative) healthy lifestyle ... Unfortunately, I discovered this site while I was working outside Syria, but I try to be as active as possible whenever I come back to spend my vacation at home. I value personal touches in your choice & words alot, so I welcome handmade stuff if you're creative & skillful at these things.
