About Sarah...

There's something fun, about getting a postcard in the mail, tucked in between the bills and flyers. I consider it a glimpse of some foreign place that I may or may not ever really get to visit.

My name is Sarah, my son's name is Andrew. I've always loved getting postcards wherever I go, cheap souvenirs and asking people to bring or mail them back when they travel. Every postcard that we've gotten has been pinned to a wall in my sons room, and marked with a round sticker on a large map and through them, he learns about the world and the people who live there. Not to mention how big and vast our planet is. We then try to learn something about that country on the internet. In fact, the postcards and map were even part of a report that he had to do, and he brought them in to show his classmates. The postcards themselves are then taped to his closet door and walls.

We do this as a way to better his writing and express himself. He likes to go to the mailbox after school to see if there's a card waiting for us or sorting through our postcards and picking the right ones for people, writing on them and lastly walking to the post office to send them. Doing our part to keep the post office running and becoming a responsible and caring citizen of the world and sneak in a little exercise with some fresh air!

As for postcards? Andrew loves cats/dogs, trains, star wars, lego and so if you have any of those laying about, feel free to send them! You can address them to him instead of me or to the both of us. He also loves seeing the different stamps. We also really love homemade postcards. We are going to learn to make our own!

We do ask that you don't put the postcards in envelopes, half the joy is seeing the postmarks and the beating that it's taken on it's way to us. Each wrinkle and crease tells a story! Our favourite one took a 2 month journey from taiwan, was waterstained and creased, but very gorgeous. His favourite has been an Ewok postcard. Jub jub!

Do you have a pet? Tell him about your pet on the back, he likes to read about other peoples pets. What's the temperature and weather like where you are? Tuck that into a corner, it's always nice to know. Got a recipe that will fit? Put it on there! We like to try new stuff and cook!

So help my son learn about your town/city/country and become a member of the world. We welcome direct swaps as well, these are always fun and if you include your return address, we'll send you a postcard in return if you want! (not required)

With much anticipation,

Sarah & Andrew Stewart
