About Silvia...

My name is Silvia, I'm a 21-year-old Design Student in Rio de Janeiro. I used to be a History major, changed my mind about that but am still passionate about all Historical things.

My mom is expecting my half-sibling and we're all very excited. We live with my stepfather and younger brother, a huge, Garfield look-a-like cat named Manteiga, cocker spaniel Liz and rescued bulldogue Fred. I've recently adopted three garden snails I found in the supermarket/about to be eaten by a centipede and have since grown very attached. I love reading about snails and think they're pretty awesome. Their names are Guilbert, Galactus (the world eater) and Dora (the explorer).

My boyfriend's buddhist. I'm trying to convince him to get his own account at postcrossing, but until I succeed I'd be more than happy to receive any postcards concerning Buddhism or religion in general (which equally interests both of us).

I love the Ocean as well, and everything related. I'm also interested in craftspeople, building and manufacturing. Anthropology is a constant and enduring passion in my life, it's always a great pleasure to receive cards portraying local celebrations/traditions.

To sum it up:

Preferred postcard themes:

Snails
Hamsters/Rats
Botanic
Babies
Navy
Religion
Local festivals/traditions
History
People at work
Architecture

(I ALSO LOVE PRETTY STAMPS)

Please do not:

Ad cards

I don't mind handmade postcards as long as you make sure it's done/printed on paper of at least 200 g/m² (so it's not that fragile :c ) and it's sent inside an envelope (so it won't get ruined on its way here)!

If you don't know what to write, you can tell me about your day or what has been on your mind recently. You can also send me a quote, poem or lyrics that are meaningful to you.

Thanks for reading, I look forward to receiving your card. Also please don't be afraid to send me postcards that are not related to my "fave postcard theme" list! I love being surprised. Just pick one that you thought was beautiful.

Have a wonderful week and happy postcrossing

Silvia

PS: It's sometimes a struggle to find neat postcards and I'm studying the possibility of printing my own using photographs I take from local people, architecture, fauna and flora. It'd be nice to get some feedback on them!
