UPDATE 23 Mar 19: Our mailbox is still down. Hopefully not for much longer. I'm picking up and dropping off the mail 3-4 times a week from the local post office. I register cards in the parking lot. XD
Greetings from the heart of the Blue Ridge! This part of the Appalachian Mountains is home to some of the oldest mountains in the world. I'm lucky to live on top of one of those mountains. I work as a librarian at a public library and I live with my partners, two cats, a black lab/hound mix puppy, and lots and lots of books.
**I am fine with any card you send.**
It's okay to send me oversize postcards, shape cards, metered postage, cards in envelopes, ad cards, Zazzle/Touchnote cards, homemade cards, a part of a food container, etc. Have fun decorating and writing on your card!
I also like receiving the card in your "postcards to send" box that has been there forever. If you don't know a single person who would want it, now you do! Send it to me please. ^_^
If you're like me and enjoy picking just the right card from your collection for another Postcrosser, I collect these:
I decided to make my profile more about me and less about the cards I want. XD
I am a third-generation librarian and I've been working in libraries since I was 15 years old. I have a degree in English and a degree in library and information science.
I wrote a book. It's a terrible book. XD
I like collage and decoupage art and want to turn them into mailed works of art. I am trying to turn my Etsy shop into a paper items and accessories shop. I like making jewelry with stones and metal but I have a hard time selling larger (and more expensive) pieces. I sell vintage books from a booth at a local antique store.
I sometimes write secrets on my postcards, or things that bother or worry me. I find catharsis in unburdening my heart to strangers.
Please write on the card you send! I like reading messages from Postcrossers around the world. Don't know what to write? Here are some suggestions:
■ Do you have pets? If not, what kind of pet would you like to have?
■ What book are you reading right now? What is your favorite?
■ Do you make any crafts (sewing, knitting, scrapbook)?
■ What are you studying in school? What is your favorite class?
■ If you could spend a week visiting any place on Earth, where would you go? What would you do?
■ Where is your favorite place to go for a walk where you live?
■ If you have a Steam ID, share it and let's be friends
■ The March writing prompt: share a favorite quote or motto.
You can talk politics to me. This is not the America we can be and I'm working towards a better country and future for everyone, not just an elite few.
