A little about myself: I'm a mom, a science geek, an atheist and a feminist.
I'll be glad to receive your postcard.
I would be especially happy to receive cards celebrating women, their history and achievements. I spend time researching the cards - that is what makes postcrossing interesting to me.
Lately, I’m doing it with a feminist twist: For tourist cards I’ll read about a place and its most famous women and their biographies. Sometimes it would take me down a rabbit hole of interesting reads and I would discover a new poetess, new music, new artist or learn about politics, history and science. Sometimes you make it easy for me and send me a postcard of a famous woman – thank you.
With that said, you can check out my favorites for ideas on what I might like, but really any card you want to send is fine. As my husband likes to joke, I have a sixth sense and can find a feminist issue in anything 😊
Handmade cards are welcome and will be treasured. If you got my address and are feeling creative - take your time and make a card...I can wait.
I find that a list of preferred themes makes it easier for senders to pick a card, so here it is:
Famous women 😊
Infographics of any kind
Scientific (math, chemistry, physics, botany, biology, medicine etc)
Folktales (children’s books, cartoons, poems)
Science Fiction (Comic books)
Political and propaganda
Coloring (I’ll let my kid color it….maybe)
Your city tourist card
Famous paintings, artists, designers (cards from your trips to museums, I’m sure you picked up a bunch of postcards of your favorite things)
Would you write a little about yourself? A book suggestion, fun fact about your town/country, favorite quote, woman that inspires you, something that made you happy today, anecdote, or a poem. Whatever fits on a postcard format 😊
PS. It would be fantastic if you could send me the FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 postcard. The mascot Ettie, or any of the players, if you have it and could part with it.
Happy postcrossing 📬
Thank you for reading this long profile! Thank you! Thank you!
