Hey there! I've always had a passion for seeing the world but it's an awful long way from here to pretty much the rest of the planet, so this seemed like a great alternative! I'm a 40 something girl living on a small island that's famous for fairy penguins and a motorbike race! Chocolate is my guilty pleasure and nature and spending time laughing and being a big kid with treasured friends, is my happy place! Although I'm equally as happy burying my nose into a good book, watching a history documentary or period drama, or applauding loudly at the theatre. One of these days I'm going to try and learn to butcher a language other than my own and become a wildlife carer... or an archaeologist ;-)

I love to travel but since retiring due to spinal injuries (apparently putting your hand out to stop a moving truck about to run you over only works if you wear a cape!!!) it's a little more difficult. If I ever win lotto (ok, I admit I may need to actually buy a ticket first!) I'll be throwing some thermals into a suitcase and taking photos of giant penguins in Antarctica quicker than you can say "do you want vegemite on your toast"! Or curling up
In front of a fireplace in a castle in the Scottish Highlands.... or both!!

I'm a teensy bit creative/crafty and have been known to spend $300 on craft supplies to make someone a birthday card that I could have bought for $12 in the shops! Practical I am not!!!

I love meeting new people from anywhere and everywhere and could probably talk the leg off a chair! I'm a firm believer in trying to be the reason someone smiles each day, so have been known to turn around in a lift to say hello to my fellow travellers! I'm also a real softy for animals of any sort (well except spiders... if they cross into my world, say hello to half a can of flyspray, 3 projectile shoes and a screaming Aussie!!) and I share the house with an adorable fluff ball of a dog, a watch cat and a wild echidna that's taken up residence in the drainpipe under the driveway!

I'm excited to find something other than bill's in my letterbox and can't wait to see where in the world this journey will take me...and my postman!! Would appreciate postcards of places (your home town, state/county or anywhere in your country really). Please write a little something about yourself or whatever takes your fancy, and if you could write the date on the postcard, that would be brilliant...
