About Yvonne...

🕊 Peace for Ukraine 🕊

Hi, I'm Yvonne, 52, happily married and mum of a 22-year-old son who's still living at home on weekends and during the practical parts of his dual university programme.

I love reading and enjoy most genres but I'm not a huge fan of Fantasy literature. I love listening to podcasts, especially those about politics and current affairs and book podcasts. I enjoy swimming and crafts such as crochet (blankets mainly), knitting (socks) and cross-stitching. I absolutely love tea and drink a lot of it and I very much prefer autumn and winter to summer. I'm not a heat person at all!

I'm a really passionate bread-baker and love to try out new recipes and would be very happy if you told me a typical kind of bread from your country. I'll then look up a recipe for it :)
I'm also always happy to get book and podcast recommendations.

I find Postcrossing very addictive. It's really exciting to see where my next card will be sent to and of course finding one in my mailbox just makes my day!

I will appreciate every card I receive but like most postcrossers I do have some preferences - please just use them as guidelines if you don't know what to send, I will appreciate every card I receive:

*** landscapes, cityscapes and generally picture postcards from your country
- cards from these areas would make me especially happy:
US: New England states
UK: North and South Wales, Lake District, Peak District,
Northumberland, Yorkshire, National Trust Houses

*** food (especially if it's typical for your area)

*** lighthouses

*** anything colourful and/or quirky

*** US state map cards and other map cards

*** nouvelles images/other multiple cards

*** skyline views of big cities

*** illustrations by Josef Lada, Lou Paper, Maarit Ailio, Katja Saario, Katerina Babok, Kaarina Toivanen

*** vintage travel posters

*** Halloween cards in October / Christmas cards in November and December

I'd be very happy if you wrote something about yourself or your country on the card - things you like and don't like, what the weather is like where you live or what your area is famous for.

Or how about telling me your favourite tastes, smells or sounds - anything unusual or weird?

Ecris-moi en francais s'il te plait, si c'est ta langue maternelle.

Thanks for picking a postcard and writing to me!

Happy Postcrossing,
Yvonne
