About Ursula...

I’m an American living in Istanbul since August 2020. My hobbies include drawing, photography, knitting, and other artistic/crafty things. I read a lot. I am also a huge fan of tennis and the Olympics. I've lived in 4 US states and 3 countries besides the US, but within those places I've also moved more than 25 times. I guess I'm a nomad.

As for postcards, I like architecture, scenery, aerial views ... anything at all.

The cards don't have to be tourist ones, but that's fine if they are. I would also love to see postcards you've bought on a vacation somewhere. I enjoy art (whether from a museum or quirky/cute art), animals (love all kinds of animals, especially wolves, foxes, bats, dogs, cats, hedgehogs), something to do with books, communist-era posters/propaganda ... seriously, whatever you want to send. This includes handmade! I love sending people mail art and I'd love to receive some, too!

I don't collect stamps but I love to see different stamps on the cards I receive!

If you need some inspiration for what to write, here are some ideas (this doesn't mean you need to cover ALL of this ....):

Tell me your favorite wild animal, or your dream vacation destination, or a good book you've read, or what your hobbies are. Tell me what you had for breakfast, what person has inspired you most in your life, what you watched on TV recently. I like it when people write the date and their current weather on their card.

You can also try your hand at drawing a hippo. Bonus points for an interesting setting/activity/outfit! :)

Postcrossers from RUSSIA: Please write something in cursive in Russian to me! I am learning Russian, and I want to see examples of different people's handwriting, it's something I don't get to see very much.

If you're looking for some different postcards to buy, I have some available in the following places:

Redbubble (linked above).
