About Emese...

Hello everyone,

Greetings from Hungary, the tiny country that gave the world the Rubik's cube, Franz Liszt, Bela Lugosi, Gloomy Sunday, and some pretty good wines among others.

I'm a girl with an unpronounceable given name. I draw pictures on postcards sometimes. I'm obsessed with travelling, and I love to learn new things about the world. I love how Postcrossing can change your view of the world through just a couple of postcards.

The ideal postcard for me is something like this:

on the picture side:
-sights, famous places of your home, local landmarks, UNESCO
-mapcards
-folklore, myths, legends, fairy tales
-traditions, folk art, national costumes
-anything about your culture really :)
-works of well known, and not so well known artists
-architecture (my favourite is contemporary but anything makes me happy) I love towers(Tv/radio towers, lighthouses, etc)!
-Alice in Wonderland (I prefer non-Disney)
-Nikola Tesla, Lewis Carroll, T.E. Lawrence, Peter O'Toole, Audrey Hepburn, David Bowie, Kate Bush
-sci-fi, fantasy, steampunk themed
-Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, Game of Thrones
-animation, comics, cartoons, book illustraitions from your country
-calligraphy, especially if it's not in the latin alphabet
-tea
-trains, railway stations, airplanes, airlines, airports, ships, vintage cars
-wild animals, especially forest animals like foxes, wolves, bears, deer, etc, also cranes, magpies, penguins, sharks, jellyfish, seals
-marimo
-flora of your country
-wisteria
-GERMANY: I'm trying to collect cards of the Deutsche Bundesländer (the way others collect U.S. states). So far I only have: Berlin, Sachsen, Thüringen. Thanks for helping me completing my collection! :)
-anything from my favorites
-but I also love suprises, don't worry!

the written side:
-like most people here, I prefer written & stamped cards without an envelope
-nice stamps are always welcome (my favorites are Europa CEPT ones)
-nice decorations, stickers, tapes, drawings always make me very happy
-eki stamps/memorial stamps if not too much trouble for you to get one on the card
-write a lot! I love long messages
-tell me something about yourself that's not on your profile page
-how was your day/week/month/year/decade/etc?
-tell me something you know about Hungary. Have you visited us? Do you want to visit?
-recommend me a band, song, book, movie from your country
-what type/brand of alcoholic drink should I try when I visit your country?
-I love learning languages! should I learn your language? Is it hard? Easy? What is fun about it? Would you learn it if it wasn't your first language?
-teach me your favourite word, phrase, or quote in your language
-does your name have an unusual or interesting meaning? do you like it or not?
-if you speak it, feel free to write in German or Japanese.

I greatly appreciate all the time, money, love and effort you put into choosing and writing a card for me, and am looking forward to finding it in my mailbox. :)

Happy Postcrossing!
~Emese
