About Christopher...

The name Milwaukee comes from an Algonkian Indian word, which means "gathering place by the waters." They may have chosen the name for the three rivers (Kinnickinnic, Menomonee, and Milwaukee) which met before flowing into Lake Michigan.

Milwaukee was once the most German city in America, and is best known for its many historic breweries, bratwurst, festivals, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Other immigrants soon followed, including the Poles which were the second largest group.

A little known fact is that the first practical typewriter, with its QWERTY key layout, was invented at a small machine shop in the downtown area. Its keys were arranged as such to separate common letter combinations and prevent mechanical jamming.

As a photographer I sometimes like to create my own postcards using photos that I have taken. My visual interests include twilight cityscapes, landscapes, and historic & modern architecture. You are welcome to send me what ever interests you.
