About Laura...

Hi- Ahoj- Hallo- Hola- Saluton- Salut- from beautiful Pensacola, Florida on the Gulf of Mexico!

Postcards, for me, are smiles in the mailbox! I enjoy sending cards to deliver a smile as much as I like receiving cards chosen for me. :)

My "best" postcard story is that I became engaged via postcard! The card was hand-delivered on a boat during a scuba diving vacation. It was written in Czech, which I couldn't read, so I had to wait for an English translation of the proposal. We had a beach wedding in 2011, and I'm still slowly trying to learn Czech! It's hard, but fun!

Every January we travel to attend a Postcard Show. It's my favorite event of the year! But, life isn't all about postcards. My avatar is an octopus exploring my hand while I was scuba diving--another passion. I'm a divemaster, but I dive for fun too. Life has slowed down during COVID, but I love the beach, gardening, vegetarian cooking, reading, music, yoga, Pickleball, swimming, kayaking, SUP, playing games, museums, foreign languages, and time with friends and pets (we have a chubby black cat who "helps" with Postcrossing, a Rottweiler & a "foster failure" dog). I'm a lawyer, a Hospice volunteer, and member of Impact 100. No time for TV, so we don't have one!

I've visited over 30 US states and these 30 countries (is yours here?): AU, BE, BG, CA, CR, HR, CU, CZ, EC, EG, FR, DE, HN, HU, ID, LU, IT, MX, NL, PW, PA, PE, PH, PL, GB, RS, ES, CH, TR, VE, and 10+ Caribbean nations, (including 12 days sailing a 38 ft. "cat" as part of a 5 woman crew!)

The message often makes a card special. It's OK if I already have the same card! YOUR message makes it unique. I love to re-read special postcards later, so be creative!
Some ideas
- What is the best thing you have bought (or done) during COVID?
-Share a favorite joke or quote
- What is your favorite song (so I can listen to it!)?
-Tell me about a random act of kindness, a secret or something no one knows about you,
-Share a dream, a fear, or what you are grateful for;
-Share an anecdote about Postcrossing, or write about the card you chose
-What's the best advice you've received?

Some cards I like (from your country!) are:
Holidays (Christmas!)
funny cards
typical things/customs/art/ (veg) foods/sweets
women (from your country- famous, in traditional dress, brides, etc.)
fruits & veggies
scuba diving/mermaids
Large Letter Greeting
bright colors
Krtek, Dubanci (CZ), your country's cartoons
animals from your country
Metallic, shiny, 3D
musical instruments
artistic bl/wh photos
YOUR favorite card! (and tell me why!)

I like pretty stamps (& Postcrossing stamps!); please NO envelope or folded cards.

If you can, please write in Spanish, French, German, Czech or Esperanto! :)

happy, st'astny, fröhliches, feliz, feličan, bon Postcrossing!

"No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted*
