About Irena...

Hi,I am in my fifties, grew up in Czechoslovakia, and have lived in Canada over 37 years now. I like history, geography, music, movies and the outdoors.

I will be happy to get any postcards, preferably from your country.
A few suggestions without order of preference:

For my husband: science, technology, electric, electronic or mechanical engineering, spaceship.

Native plants, fungi and wildlife.

Telegraph, train stations and trains, interior of a train.

Local countryside, landscape, architectural or geographical landmark, maps, chateaus, castles, churches, temples, convents / monasteries, synagogues, mosques, wayside shrines and archeological sites.

Rivers, lakes, seas, ocean, ponds, waterfalls in your country.

Nature and wildlife conservancy, preserving resources, "reduce, reuse, recycle", composting.

Also a card showing people in old traditional dress, something to do with local festivities, old fashioned trades, crafts and customs, or a typical Christmas and Easter card, Halloween themed card in season, if these are celebrated in your country.

Art - classical, modern, local artists' work, illustrations.

Fairy tale, folk tale characters of your nation or country.

UNESCO WHS.

Local food - photograph or drawing.

Old fashioned, vintage, or black and white postcards cards that your grandmother would have received.

If you are from Czech Republic or Slovakia:
- samozrejme piste Cesky nebo Slovensky.
- postcards from small places, kaplicky, bozi muka, "vodniky", "certy", hrady, zamky, kostely, klastery, old traditional costumes as well.
- children's books illustrations. But any card will be great.

Please NO:
famous people such as actors/actresses, singers, politicians
Also NO:
"pin up", erotic, naked half naked or similar.
As a nurse for over 30 years I have seen enough naked people!!

Date and weather on the card is great.
Also a little note in your native tongue ( with translation ) would be fun.

Re-ID number - it is a good idea to write it in a couple of different places on the card. Sometimes the postmark / cancellation covers it and then it is difficult to read.

Thank you all!!

Happy Postcrossing
