About postcardposse37...

**Please write your message to Saku, my student, rather than Matthew (their teacher). Thank you!**

I'm in a postcard club at my school. Please read the information from my teacher below my message too!

Hello! I'm Saku. I'm a junior high school student in Yamanashi, Japan. In English, "Yama" means "mountain, and "nashi" means "pear". So, Yamanashi is famous for mountains and fresh fruit. I can see Mount Fuji from my school.

I like to figure skate. I have a dog in my house. I love strawberries.

I like postcards with animals. If I can see one from your country, I will be very happy, but I will be happy to receive any postcard from you. Please tell me about your hometown.

I'm looking forward to your postcard. Thank you!

Hi there! My name is Matthew and I teach English at a junior high school in rural Japan. I recently started a postcard club with about 20 of my students on Postcrossing. I manage their accounts, but they are free to write anything in their profile and on their postcards. I apologize in advance if there are mistakes spelling your name or in the formatting of your address. It's their first time writing postcards to a foreign country, so they're still learning!

Their English level isn't very high, but I think Postcrossing is a great opportunity for them to try to use what they learned, learn about foreign cultures, and hopefully become more motivated to learn a foreign language. The address listed is mine, but I will give the cards to the students as soon as I receive them. If you don't mind, please try to make your postcard easy to read (cursive is very difficult for them, but I will help). Their English is very basic so there will probably be parts of your message that are difficult for them to understand, but I think they will feel motivated to understand your message and I hope it will be a fun challenge.

If you have any questions, please send me a message and I will try to reply soon. Thank you very much for giving my students a fun opportunity to learn!
--Matthew

P.S. -- We normally don't do direct swaps, but if you work with a school and are interested in organizing a direct swap with our students, please send me a message!
