About Kiera...

My name is Kiera and I'm a 32 year old woman in NYC. I love meeting new people and learning about different places and cultures. A quick note - I work from home, and therefore I am only checking my PO Box once a week so your card may not be registered the exact same day it arrives. But, it will be registered when I have it in hand! I only register cards that I've received.

Canadian friends, if you're able to use a Tragically Hip stamp on my card, I would greatly appreciate it. Big fan!

My interests include:

- Music
- Photography
- Paper crafting
- Ice Hockey (let's go Devils!)
- Movies
- Tea
- Vintage things
- Historical places
- LGBTQIA+ history and art (Pride Month here is in June, but I celebrate our community daily)
- Candid portraits
- Local traditions
- Local transportation (trains, streetcars, etc.)
- Local foods/recipes (I love baking!)
- Old movie posters
- Maps
- Curiosities/oddities
- Books/libraries
- Folk art
- Animals (Some favorites are cats, bears, foxes, monkeys, and otters - but no spiders please, I'm very arachnophobic and even photos creep me out!)
- COVID-19 (I guess it's not an interest in the virus itself, but I'd like to receive related postcards to view as a historical document)

but I'm also interested in seeing/reading about your favorite things. Whatever card you send me, I'm sure I will love! Holiday cards are also welcome - my family celebrates Christmas, for example, but I'd be more than happy to learn about your traditions.

Please try to refrain from sending me religious cards or cards with babies/children. Thank you!

If you can, please tell me your favorite band/artist. I love discovering new music!

The cards you see in my favorites are cards that I have not yet received, so if I do not favorite your card, it does not mean I don't like it! I love and appreciate everything that comes to me.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you and learning a little bit about who you are and/or where you come from. Feel free to share something in your own language, as well!

US friends: Please join the campaign to request that the U.S. Postal Service issue a Postcrossing stamp! Spread the word by adding this info to your profile & then send a postcard (or write a letter) to:

Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee
475 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Room 3300
Washington, DC 20260-3501

Happy writing!

(Update, Nov 3rd 2021 - formerly known as lunchforthesky, I decided to make my snail mail accounts more cohesive. Check out @peekintothepostbox on Instagram if you're interested in seeing what I do over there!)
