About Ann...

I am a Gen-X'r and I live in Central Florida - Orlando area - with my husband and 2 sons. We have several rescue cats (one is a luxurious Maine coon) and a small dog, a terrier mix. I love sci-fi, Edward Gorey, miniature gardens, reading and books, old tv shows and pretty much anything vintage or retro.

October is my favorite month and I am into spooky all year round.

The small town I live in is famous for the feral chickens that roam downtown, they are all that's left of what used to be a farming community. Celery was the specialty crop, and amaryllis bulbs. I got pecked by a rooster once because it didn't like the way my toddler and I looked. Ha! It made me second guess my dream of a backyard henhouse.

Some of the many jobs I have worked over the years:
ice cream scooper, bakery, veterinary kennels, bookstore manager, florist shop, ceramic studio, herb nursery and receptionist.

My obsession with opossums began when I raised orphaned babies for release into the wild for several years.

Hobbies I enjoy are knitting, kindness rocks, plants and cooking. I am hoping to learn to crochet. I spent 4 years skating with a local roller derby league.

I love snail mail! Send any kind of postcard you like, from store bought to handmade, naughty or nice. You can even cut a piece off of your favorite cereal box and stamp & mail that. Like stickers? Me too!

If you really want to get specific, I particularly like:
- your landscape or scenic views (or... favorite vacation destination)
- old buildings or ruins
- spooky
- snow
- mountains
- roller skating
- black & white
- holidays
- moths
- October
- houseplants / flowers / gardens / carnivorous plants / mushrooms
- rubber stamping
- animals (real or illustrated, especially: flamingos, owls, opossums, greyhounds, snails / slugs)

Would you rather draw / doodle something, instead of writing? Or teach me a phrase in your language.
