I am a retired Elementary and Sp. Ed. teacher from Southwest Louisiana. I substitute at the local elementary school and enjoy watching backyard birds, reading, solving puzzles, garden projects and caring for a very independent tom cat. I am a "dog person" but since my beloved terriers (Russie, a Norfolk and Bella, a Jack Russell) passed away I cannot bring myself to have another dog in my life--yet.

I love seeing the moon in the night sky. Heart-shaped stones are the only things I collect, and it warms my heart when my grandson brings me any he finds, because I know he's thinking of me when I'm not around. I also enjoy quotes, or "sayings" that are mindful. One of my most useful is "Never answer an angry word with an angry word. It's the second that makes the quarrel." It has served me well. ;)
