I'm a 43 year old from the beautiful north coast of New South Wales, but I now live just west of Toowoomba in south east Queensland. I try to send postcards that people request when I can. I sometimes use my own photos and get them professionally printed as postcards to share the sights of the beautiful places I live or have been to.
I'm a primary school teacher. In my spare time I make and sell soap, soy wax candles and postcards. You can check out my items if you like https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/UtopiaHomewaresAU
I love all sorts of postcards but I particularly love landscapes, town views and historical features. I love history and read avidly about this topic, both ancient and modern. I also love Meet Up cards and I've become a fan of the Greetings From... cards.
I'm not a fan of the touchnote or other type cards that are sent from within the country they are being sent to. I think it destroys the point behind Postcrossing... receiving real cards with real stamps, with real postmarks is so much better. However I do realise that we have an expensive hobby so if possible please don't send me these types of cards.
Lately, I've noticed that the mail service is much slower! Cards are taking much longer to arrive! I register all cards when I receive them. So if I have not registered it, it has not arrived. I prefer not to register cards that I have not received. I don't expect expired cards I've sent to be registered either. I know some people don't like this but I just prefer to wait and see.
I'm an avid stamp collector so please include interesting stamps on the card if you can. I also love writing letters. I have a lot of penpals all over the world but at the moment I'm not looking for any new pals or swappers. Sorry :(
