About Maria...

Hello, my name is Maria. I love going in for family history and genealogy and have a youtube channel to share some search methods under the name of Мария Копай https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWMWcFzvntXxc24ewihIDGw. If your ancestors come from Russia and you need some advice in this respect, please, feel free to write to me, I will be happy to help.

Among other things I love:
* art (everything is great; esp. Pre-Raphaelites, Jan Vermeer and Pieter Bruegel ♥︎ )
* illustrations (lots of details, Anton Pieck, Norman Rockwell, Carl Larsson ♥︎ )
* modern graphics (James Jean ♥︎ )
* prints from old books (esp botanic and fauna ♥︎ )
* history of fashion, national costume
* magazine covers and old-style posters
* Victorian literature (Jane Austen, sisters Brontë)
* yoga, myths, legends, witchcraft and pagan festivals
* moomins (and hattifatteners, sure thing!), trolls and fairies
* Flower Fairies by Cicely Mary Barker ♥︎
* old ladies by Inge Löök ♥︎
* Pettson and Findus ♥︎
* Beatrix Potter ♥︎
* Gravity Falls, the Simpsons, Futurama, Adventure Time, Rick and Morty, Over the Garden Wall, Song of the Sea, Studio Ghibli cartoons
* Terry Pratchett's Discworld
* Song of Ice and Fire by George Martin (the book was better!)
* cats (esp Jetoy https://flic.kr/s/aHsmaq6CTA, Hermitage, Maria Pavlova https://flic.kr/s/aHsksAQ85K, dressed cats, Rumyantsev's cats&angels ♥︎)
* owls (any owls are great, esp. Inga Paltser and Belarus owls)

If you do not have anything of the kind, please, have a look at my favourites or choose the _strangest_ of your postcards or just let your fancy play round.

What I really don't like is plain tourist view cards, multi-view and most handmade (though sometimes it can be really awesome, like this SAR owl https://www.postcrossing.com/postcards/ZA-49732). If you have nothing else to send, please, try to make it a bit more personal.

I am not a stamp collector, but I love nice stamps in line with the postcard and, generally, mail art. If you wish, you can send your card in an envelope - I won't mind at all. If you choose to put there something else, like signed cards that don't fit into your collection, small coins or banknotes, magnets etc - I won't mind either :)

And the last, but not the least. Please, write something about yourself, your thoughts or dreams maybe. Maybe there is an interesting fact you can share - of the card, the stamp, your country, hometown or your native language, national food and traditions, your ancestors and family legends. Please, feel free to express yourself. I am truly interested in you, my dear penfriend. Happy postcrossing and stay safe!
