Hello, dear postcrossers from all over the world!

My name is Polina, I was born in 1994 in Moscow, Russia, and I've been living here ever since. I'm a professional translator/interpreter. I speak English and German and will be very happy to receive a postcard written in either of them. There are two concepts that have always attracted my attention: human beings and language. As Wilhelm von Humboldt once wrote, "Language is, as it were, the external manifestation of the minds of peoples. Their language is their soul, and their soul is their language." I can't agree more and find my purpose in solving riddles of a soul that are tightly intertwined with one's native language.

• B&W photography. Old style or modern. I simply LOVE it.

• Poetry. I'm an ever-adoring fan of Walt Whitman and Herman Hesse. But I would be happy as ever to receive a postcard with a quote from your favorite poem (not specifically posted on the cover, as it can also be written by you).

• Feminism and body positivity. I'm a body positive intersectional feminist, so I'll be glad to receive a postcard with a motivating or a pro-feminist picture. It can also be a portrait of a woman that is special to you or your country.

• Horrors and gothic. Anything from movies starring Bela Lugosi to the Great Old Ones created by H. P. Lovecraft, from Edgar Poe's works to Freddy Krueger.

• Music: classical (Ludwig van Beethoven and Richard Wagner)... and heavy. Long live rock 'n' roll 🤘

• Historical places and sights to see. Let it be your hometown, a place you've been to, a place you'd like to visit in your country.

• Handmade. Nothing specific, let your inspiration decide!
