About Valerie...

Was born in Belarus.
Currently living in Belarus.
Gonna die anywhere but Belarus (all in good time).

Third-year linguistics student. Quite obvious that I study foreign languages — my choice fell on French & Japanese — and some other disciplines. Teaching here is carried out only in English. Majoring in foreign literature (American & British). Is it useless, boring? Sort of. Still, it has become a pleasure for me to read carefully something, knowing which literary devices/etc were used, analyzing. That's it.

Grew up on good french music, cassettes, old dusty books of grandparents, cartoons about the Wild West, endless dreams about smth that doesn't exist. Spent those years constantly losing myself in pines, ripe gold ears, twinkling stars over those very pines, sweet smell of straw in a field.
Curious enough to explore all kinds of various things such as Latin or astronomy, phylosophy, scandinavian and greek mythology, or even archaeology. Wanna learn about the world as much as i can. 'm nothing but a wayfarer.
Since childhood the heart is full of strong unexplainable passion for the Wild West and prairies, scandinavian forests and rocky mountains. ↟↟↟
LGBT+ supporter. Love is love guys, take it easy.
Nature and aesthetics lover.

▸Hobbies: playing the guitar, reading, photographing, cycling.
Also interested in music and musical instruments, history and science, jurisprudence, culture of different countries (mainly Japan, Korea, France), french musicals (Mozart, Notre-Dame de Paris, La Légende du roi Arthur, and so on), various ancient things, etc.
▸Fav music: jrock, metal, kpop, indie, folk, classical music.
▸Fav movies & TV-series: Shindler's List, the Pianist, Little Ashes, the Lord of the Rings, Da Vinci's Demons, Merlin, Hannibal.
▸Fav books: Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, Martin Eden by Jack London, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Sacred and Profane by David Weiss, The Pianist (memoir) by Władysław Szpilman, The Tomb of Tutankhamun by Howard Carter.

!!! I don't have any special postcard requests so feel free to send any you find or like - anyway I'll be glad to receive it.
P.S. due to my passion for Asia, the Wild West and Scandinavia - as stated above - I'll be doubly glad and happy to see postcards with it. The same applies to vintage ones (have you seen these amazing old photos of Native Americans? wow, it breaks my heart, ha-ha).
Of course, at any time you can look through my favorites, perhaps, it will help you in some way.
!!! Write whatever you want (it can even be a poem/a few words in your native language, something about your country's customs/traditions, your life stories - I find such a thing interesting too; etc), write whatever you think, let your imagination run wild.

Une petite note: vous pouvez écrire en français, si vous le connaissez et si vous voulez. Je veux améliorer ma langue et je crois que c'est une experience intéressante et utile, n'est-pas?

Thank you and have a nice postcrossing.
With respect,
V.
