About Miia...

Hi, my name is Miia. I´m always trying to think positively about life and people and I think this life is a big adventure that I want to experience. I´m a primary school teacher by profession. I've recently started a new chapter in my life and moved to our beautiful capital Helsinki. My children have grown up, so it's just me and my husband living here.

My hobbies are singing in a choir, sports (running, swimming, gym), baking and travelling. I also love nature and my garden. Going to the woods gives me strenght and it relaxes me a lot.

I love travelling and seeing new places and people. I travel to Germany often, beautiful country, with all the old towns and Christmas markts. Finlands capital Helsinki has a big part of my heart, it really is worth visiting! My dream destination is Australia, some day I will travel there. Love the koalas! So many places to see in this world, exciting! Postcrossing is a way to get the world close to me, that´s why I´m here.

Countries I´ve travelled to:

Sweden: Stockholm, Umeå, Sundsvall, Jönkping
Norway: Trondheim
Estonia: Tallinn, Pärnu, Karula, Tartto
Latvia: Riga
Lithuania: Vilna
Germany: Bremen, Heidelberg, Hamburg, Luneburg, Freiburg,
Schwarzwald (Schonach Im Schwarzwald, Triberg Im Sch.)
Austria: Vienna, Salzburg
Croatia: Zadar
Italy: Rome, Sicily
Greece: Santorini
America: NYC and Miami (both twice)
Caribia: Curacao
Portugal: Lisboa, Ericeira

I´m waiting for your postcards. Tell me about your hobbies and interests. Tell me a little bit about your country/town and why I should visit there. And it would be nice to learn new languages so maybe a word or two in your own language :)

P.s. I really appreciate CLEAR handwriting! :)

Happy to connect! Best wishes, Miia
