About Maria...

Hello! My name is Maria. I very much like the idea of this project to help people get connected. We are all parts of one world but the world is so amasingly different!
So, I will be glad to receive your beautiful card with something national or local, special or unusual, interesting or romantic on it where feel free to tell me everything you feel like.

I adore travelling and learnig languages, that's why, I believe, I became a teacher of English:) So, some words in your native language, especially which is unknown for me, would make me absolutely happy!:) Translation is much desirable;)
If you have a favourite catch phrase/wise quotation/proverb/saying etc., I'll be glad if you share it with me. (If possible, in your native language with the translation.)

As for my other likes, I admire so many things in life... that makes the choice of a card for me pretty easy:) There are some ideas:
- landscapes/seascapes/waterfalls,
- sunrises/sunsets/night views,
- flowers,
- animals (wild or domestic)/baby animals/cute animals; beautiful birds and insects (like butterflies or ladybugs),
- architecture (ecpecially castles, palaces, bridges) and sacred places (temples/churches/mosques etc.),
- wonderful city views,
- national costumes/crafts/ornaments,
- fine art (Impressionism especially)/applied art/folk art of your country,
- cards with some writing in your native language,
- colourful maps of your region,
- traditional weddings,
- love coulpes,
- romantic fantasy cards,
- jewellery,
- antique things
- and other kinds of beauty:)
A list of my favourites can also be of some help or just send me what you like yourself, I love pleasant surprises:)
Handmade cards are also much welcome:)

Look forward to your card /

p.s. I was greatly touched by the appeal I found in the profile of one of my addressees and I'd like to share it with you:
"Please find it in your heart to send an extra card to one of these very sick children in the USA and the UK -
http://www.sendkidstheworld.com/
http://www.postpals.co.uk/"
I hope this plea will find a response in many hearts.
