About Mamie...
I am from Seattle Washington, USA, but moved to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania late 2018. I am 37 years old and work part time from home as a self employed jewelry maker and craft supply seller on Etsy and elsewhere.
I was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases when I was 27, and haven't worked outside home since 2013, and find that with both a disability and not working outside the house I don't get much human interaction outside of my husband. I love people and places and learning all sorts of new things!
I would love to hear about anything you want to tell me! I am very open minded and loving and here for all people from anywhere! I would just love to receive interesting postcards from fun people around the world :)
I am into nature and animals, all animals not really picky, but I do particularly love Capybaras, cats, elephants (I adopt elephants from the Sheldrick WIldlife Trust pretty regularly), and rats. But I seriously love all animals, even snakes and spiders and bats lol! The more unique and interesting the better! I give a portion of my profits from my jewelry shop to local shelters and am a big proponent of adopt don't shop! I currently have three cats, we just lost our oldest guy (Tango) to cancer in late January 2021, he was a big orange Maine coon, so we are particularly fond of things that remind us of him. Our three remaining are one 11 year old Bengal mix, and two 4 year old littermates, one black female and one ginger stripey male. The older one is cantankerous and came to us at five years old with a sad history so she doesn't get close with the "kittens" but the other two are big cuddle bugs and are very close. We got them from a shelter at 4 months old, originally saved from a hoarder situation, but they were young enough they have no idea life wasn't always this spoiled and glorious haha! But our older girl is a big lover with us and is a happy and healthy girl now.
My husband is a software engineer and originally from Pittsburgh so when he got a remote job we moved from Seattle to Pittsburgh to be near his family and for the lower cost of living. It's a fun city, very different than the west coast. But I am learning lots of fun new things about my new home!
I look forward to seeing the fun postcards I may get and from where! Anything you wanna send me about or from your home will be treasured! Thank you so much!!!
