Hello! My interests include painting, and finding unusual second-hand books. I enjoy reading poetry, when I make time for it, especially Gerard Manley Hopkins. A postcard you send to me will come to the Dee Valley, part of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
If you have 4 minutes to spare, this video will give you a glimpse of the beautiful North Wales coast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d35WMIgWFyM
And this short film will introduce you to the lovely Wales Coast Path:
If you want to, tell me why you like the card you chose, or simply your plans for the weekend. Or, if you could have a free 24 hours where time stood still for you, what would you do with it? I'm always pleased to read about your local library or bookshop too. My nearest library, in Llangollen, is small but mighty! My favourite authors are Walter Pater and Alexander Pushkin - maybe you can introduce me to who you like to read most.
My favourite composer, Gerald Finzi, wrote: "a song outlasts a dynasty". What song do you think will still be loved in two or three hundred years' time?
The postcards I receive are all favourites, for different reasons.
Your message is even more important than the picture. :-)
I'm very happy to receive ANY postcard you have chosen to send.
Free cards and gallery cards are fine, if you think they're interesting.
Here are some suggestions only, of things I would particularly love, if it helps you to choose a postcard:
- a view of the place you live
- cloisters, temples
- your local art gallery
- literature, literacy... would you recommend a good book from your country?
- paintings of gardens
- Cenotaph to Winckelmann in Trieste, Italy (♥)
- dark blue
- Pina Bausch, Sergei Diaghilev
- Il Bacco (Bacchus), by Michelangelo, Museo del Bargello (♥)
- hyacinths, figs, peonies
- Gerald Finzi
- tailors at work ✀
Thank you for your postcard!
