About Leisa...

Howdy!

My name is Leisa and I'm from Marshall, Texas. Marshall is a small town located right on the border of Texas close to Louisiana. My town has a Fire Ant Festival (yes we celebrate the evil insects) and of course the Marshall Wonderland of Lights. Every year for Christmas our town puts of millions of lights all over the city, it's a beautiful sight to see!

I'm currently on the back side of a half century. I have two grown children, one grandson and granddaughter. I love animals and have just adopted a 1 year old rescue dog named Lucy. She's a Beagle/Jack Russell toddler and into everything. Now days I love to read and try to keep up with Lucy. My favorites tend to be the paranormal romance by authors such as: Ilona Andrews, Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, Anne Bishop, Colleen Helme etc. It's pure escape, into another world that makes it fun.

My husband started on this idea of Postcrossings and I enjoyed his cards so much I wanted my own. I enjoy getting the cards and hearing from so many different people. I can't make up my mind if it is more fun to get the cards or pick out and send just the right card to make someone else's day. If you care to swap let me know. I also would love to swap magnets for other countries. I have a nice collection started but would love more.

As far as what to send me, I may be older but like to think young. Unusual is my cup of tea. I like more of the non tourist type cards. You can look at my favorites and tell where my heart really leans toward. Don't feel like they are a must though!

Here is a short list of ideas to help you pick a card for me.

True loves for postcards:
fantasy, faries, gnomes, trolls, ogers, dragons, etc
paranormal
myths or legends
ghosts, witches, werewolves, or vampires
anime/manga
aliens or sci-fi stuff
movies like Twlight
True Blood
Alice in Wonderland
Misstigri
children's fairy tales or stories
Kaj Stenvall
Moomins
Gorjuss
Leonid Afremov
Umbrellas
Inge Look
Katja Saario

If you don't go in for the fantasy stuff (which seems to be the case with most folks), that's o.k. Here are a few ideas on the normal side:

everyday life in your country
floral life
animals
vintage
something wild and colorful
Christmas during the season

Or something to make me think,(it's good for old brains to be worked), or the most different card you have come across is great. I like funny or cute or unique. I would prefer not to get ad cards unless they fit my list. If you like to draw something on the back side it gives the card character.

If you don't know what to write tell me a short myth from your country or story. A ghost story or a odd occurrence. A joke or wise words. Something about you or your day.

Basically, if you don't have anything that fits my wants, I will be pleased to get anything you care to send so don't worry about it. A postcard from you will brighten my day no matter what. It's always nice to get mail from a new friend.
