About Vlada...

Hi!
My name is Vlada. I grew up in south Russia, but though I'm not too old (only 24 :), I have already leaved in many cities in Russia and abroad (olimpyc Sochi, Moscow, Paris...). But a couple of years ago I felt a strong call for the Russian Far East, wild and beautiful, so I moved to the Commander islands, and spent there almost 2 years working in a Nature Reserve. Now I live on Kunashir island with my husband, dreaming about moving to some Arctic territories in the future, when our son grows up a little bit. Kunasir is a small island, here there are no postcard shops, and those rare cards that one can find at the post office are not nice at all, so please forgive me for sending you hand-made cards.

About me: I adore travelling, but not just like a simple tourist, a bit more like an 'into the wild' traveller, learning new things, experiencing the world, meeting local people and exploring different cultures, countries, traditions.
I love volunteering, I think it's one of the most wonderful things one can experience - working together in an international team on a common cause, leaving something behind you.
I like both big cities, the intensity of their life, and pure wild nature, and I think there can be no place in the world that I won't like, everything has it's own charm. I like places with character that you can feel.
I love wild nature, I work in a Nature Reserve.I enjoy strolling about old city streets,
feeling the strings of a guitar under my fingers,
horseriding,
hiking,
watching the moon and a starry sky,
figure skating,
discussing unintelligible things,
ballroom dancing,
taking and watching pictures,
drawing,
autumn leaves rustling.
I love the road and all means of transport - train, car, plane, ship, I think sometimes the way itself can be more important that the destination.
I love books, bookshops and libraries, can spend hours reading.
I always send postcards to myself from every new place I visit, writing some momentary impressions or a kind of diary-notes on them - it feels so funny when you get them, as if you get a message from the past.

Please write something on your card, something about you or what you think at the moment or whatever you wish, it's the message that makes the card precious.

Happy postcrossing!

Vlada
