Hi, everyone....
I am an American woman (grew up in New York State, USA) but have lived in Germany (Bavaria) for the past 31 years, my husband and I have 3 boys, ranging in age from 16 to 28. I love knowing two countries as home and love to travel! The best thing about Europe for me is the close proximity of many cultures and the history all around! Postcrossing is for me a small way to experience far away places through local people, at the same time I hope with each card to give of a spark of joy to someone's else's day!
I love to read, esp. historical fiction and biographies, to write, try new veggie recipes, play the piano, listen to music. Authors and composers inspire me as they reach across all distance and time, touching hearts and minds hundreds of years ago, today and tomorrow, a bit of them lives forever! Exploring large old European cities, ethnic foods and historical sites can all give me goosebumps! True, deep joy is for me the peace and beauty of the great outdoors - to hike, jog, bike, dream. Recently I started learning to grow veggies but still have a lot to learn!
