About Kia...

Hello, my name is Kia. I'm relatively new to the Cincinnati area. I moved to the area in 2021 for an Administrative Fellowship at a healthcare organization. My fellowship has ended, but I've transitioned to a manager position at an Endocrinology office. It's very busy, but i love it!

Previously, I was living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for three years as I worked and went to school for my Master's in Healthcare Administration and another in Business Administration. Before that, I was in Rochester, New York for three years as an AmeriCorps volunteer. I worked in a community health clinic for people who didn't have health insurance.

I'm originally from Nebraska where I lived in a very rural area. I spent most of my time growing up on an acreage, so I have a deep appreciation for gardening and raising animals (chickens, ducks, geese, goats, rabbits, etc.).

Service to the community is very important to me! When I'm not working, I enjoy cooking, strength training, and writing letters. I'm always looking for new Pen Pals, so if you would like to exchange letters long term or short term, please reach out!

Before I moved to Rochester, I worked as a bartender/waitress at a small pub. I won't say no to good food and good drinks! I love traveling, so please tell me about where you are from or your favorite places. I like interesting stamps and little drawings if you are artistic!

**I recently had a baby boy on April 8th, 2024. He is currently in the NICU because he was born one month early after I was admitted to the hospital for preeclamsia.
My pregnancy journey has had many ups and downs as I have gone through IVF. If you have any NICU/IVF thoughts you want to share...or any advice for a first time parent, please do! **

Feel free to follow my Instagram! I share some of the postcards I receive there too!: @kkai10

*Postcrossing rules state not to register a postcard until you've received it. This is a rule that I follow, so please don't ask me to. I'm very prompt with my registration, so as soon as I get it, I'll register it no matter how late!
