About Kara...

I live in a small town in Arkansas with my husband,
5 year old daughter, 3 year old son, and my African pygmy hedgehog. It's a quiet town and a nice place for children to explore the outdoors. I was an English teacher to international students for 9 years, but now I'm home taking care of my children. I love learning about other countries, as I grew up in several: Liberia, Zambia, and Suriname. I also traveled to Tanzania for a few months, and visited London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Switzerland (all of those very briefly) as a tourist. I love travel, but don't get to anymore, so I travel through your postcards!

I am happy to receive all postcards, but I especially like:

-art, particularly art from your country
-cultural interests, regional food, or clothes. What makes your area unique?
-postcards related to famous literature
-local landmarks or beautiful landscapes from your country
-anything quirky or interesting
-Sometimes I use my post card collection in my classes to have students discuss the image they see, or make up stories about the people or places in the image. So pictures that look like they have a story or are mysterious in some way are good for that.
-My kids like animals and insects, so they would enjoy images of those. (And I'd be particularly interested in wildlife unique to your area.)

Most importantly, please write a message on your card! I love to make a small connection with someone in another country. It makes me so happy. Tell me about your hobbies, or your favorite food, or anything you like!

I love reading. Lately I've been reading The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey, but I like a wide variety of book genres. If you have a good book recommendation, I would like to hear it!

Or you can tell me something about where you live or something interesting about your culture. My kids love to look at postcards from new places! I use your cards to teach them about the world.
