About Joan...

I am a retired teacher and school librarian. I continue to volunteer in classes. I am looking for Christmas and holiday cards in different languages to use in an international holidays around the world displays. I would like scenic postcards or ones that picture famous people or landmarks in your country. Folk or fairytale illustrations or popular children’s book characters in your country are very welcome. I also appreciate great works of art by your famous painters. indigenous people, native animals and plants would also be great. I also am interested in UNESCO sites. (See the list at http://whc.unesco.org/en/list.) Really anything representative of your culture that i can share with young people all make me happy. Birthday cards in your language are helpful. I love interesting stamps as much as the postcards. Besides my personal interests, I will continue to share these cards with students and my own grandchildren to help them learn about other cultures and our world. Things that are unique to your country are great for sharing. Your messages with details about you and your homeland or work make the card very special.
My interests include children's and young adult literature, most kinds of music, and art. I look forward to meeting people all over the world. I am an animal lover and share my home with cats and dogs, but unless the card shows a breed unique to your country I have many cute cards already. I enjoy reading and working in my yard.
Please contact me if you feel that I should have received a card from you. I make every effort to register a card on the day that I receive it. Thank you.
