I am a physicist by profession, now working in the geological sciences, have lived for several years in England, and also for some months in France. I am a radio amateur, a bookworm, and interested in history and languages. I like to go hiking, and I collect stamps (if you want to swap some, tell me!).
Remember to use sufficient postage and valid stamps. Please make sure they stick well and do not overlap or fold around the card edges.
I would much appreciate if you posted your cards from a post office and get a clear local postmark (the smaller the place, the better), but I understand that this will not always be possible.
Any postcard will be appreciated, explicitly including homemade ones, photographs, and advertisement cards. Surprise me ;-) Just try to avoid kitsch and stereotypes, please! I also accept postal stationery (i.e. postcards with pre-printed stamps).
If you want to know what I like, here are some ideas:
- anything that runs on rails
- anything scientific
- anything steam-powered
- heavy or uncommon machinery
- great works of engineering
- geological features
- fortresses, castles
- Art déco, Art nouveau
If there is no printed information about the motive or the location on the card, please write about it in your message.
In case you do not know what to write: I like trying out cooking or baking recipes ;-)

Дорогие русские друзья, пожалуйста напишите по-русски! Я изучал этот язык в школе много лет назад, и не хочу все забывать. Кроме того, очень люблю кириллицу.
Chers amis francophones, écrivez en français, s'il vous plait!
