About Gin...

Hello, my name is Gin and my family is from the desert and we love it! We love being outside and enjoying the natural world. I am an EMT and I homeschool my 10 year old kiddo whose special interests are Transformers and space.

My hobbies include rock climbing, reading, dungeons and dragons, knitting, crochet, spinning (wool), embroidery, quilting, sewing, and video games. I have been collecting postcards since I was ten years old, and I love that I can get them into a mailbox!

I'd love to read something written by you. I was thinking of ideas because sometimes writer's block can hit just when you sit down to write out a stack of postcards and it is so much fun to read these over and over again.

Prompts:

Write a haiku about what you can see out your window.

What is your favorite animal and what one thing could make that animal even better. (Mine is the manatee and I would make some tiny so they could live in ponds and I could feed them like ducks!)

What was your favorite book as a child? And your favorite book now?

What's your favorite dinosaur? Mine is the ankylosaur, a very well preserved one was found in 2011 and I just want to give it's big ol' head a pat!

Celebrate.! I'd love to read about something good in your life. Big or small. Brag about something you're proud of, your favorite thing about you, something you are excited for, grateful for, or impressed by. I'm happy you're here and I'm celebrating with you!

Doodle. Sometimes words are hard; doodles are great.

Interests include:

Science (especially astronomy and nuclear science)

History (bronze age to the middle ages)

Nature (I love camping)

Art (I like the classics like Monet and Degas but also new artists and illustrators, if you have a favorite I'd love to know about them. I always look up artist recommendations and have learned so much about art around the world!)

Poetry and Reading (I collect odd books and old books)

Tea

Science Fiction/Fantasy (Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, The Lord of the Rings, Supernatural, etc)

Video Games (Destiny, Dragon Age, Borderlands, Pokemon, etc)

I love every card! If you like sending homemade, photo, snack food boxes cut into postcard shapes, greeting cards, stickers, envelope, no envelope, cities, abstract, inspirational kittens dangling from trees, got for it! I will appreciate and love them all. The only bad postcard is the one that gets lost.

Write in any language you want, I love the adventure of translating languages...Happy Postcrossing!
