About Dave...

I am a college professor. I have a number of hobbies including writing and stamp collecting. I enjoy visiting places. I've been to many places in the United States, including Alaska where I went to college. My foreign travel has been limited to Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Canada, and Mexico. I had a number of pen pals when I was younger. It was an exciting day to receive letters from Thailand, Austria, Malawi, Tunisia, or Japan. I send postcards to relatives when traveling and I also send cards to American military personnel serving around the world.

I have few preferences in terms of postcards; however, I am interested in learning about historic sites and events. I also like mountains and other high places. There are very few mountains in the Texas Panhandle. Postcards that show sites and events related to government and politics appeal to me, including campaign advertising cards. As a professor, I am interested in views of educational institutions. Cards advertising or showing breweries are interesting. Finally, I collect postcards and stamps related to Scouting. I also collect stamps related to small countries so postcards from small countries would be great.

I recently picked up some of the "Greetings from . . ." cards. If you have one from your state or city (I have a Greetings from Texas and Greetings from Amarillo), it would add to my collection. I also like the German city name cards.

I'll certainly enjoy any cards I receive.
