Hello!

I'm Impetuous, and welcome to my profile. I'm still quite new to post-crossing (has it been a whole year?), but have long held a love for postcards. I remember how I loved getting cards from relatives as they traveled for business or went on vacation, and have collected them for many years.

I like bike riding, backpacking, and fine ale. I believe that the outdoors won't explore itself, so any opportunity I can find I spend time outside. I started hiking and backpacking as a youth, and I once aspired to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail. I'm not a long distance bike rider, but I love the exercise and the rapidly changing scenery. I also love craft beer and local breweries. I'm not a devotee' of the massive, over-hopped bitter beers, but I like a big malty brown ale or a crisp pilsner, my favorites being porter and scotch ale. I live in a town that was once a leader in US brewing and is seeing a resurgence in local brewing, taprooms and micro-breweries. But as much as I like tasting or drinking beers, I also like tasting a fine whiskey.

I am a history buff; I like pictures from historic places and things. Castles, places, architecture, re-enactment & renaissance festivals, clothing and books. I also like animals (I have two dogs and a cat - all are rescues, and my yard plays host to squirrels, birds, all manner of wildlife!), trees, and all things made of stone. I love writing letters, pens, paper and handwriting. My latest hobby is collecting and restoring manual typewriters, which I also use in my letter writing. I promise that I will be delighted to receive any postcard you wish to send.
