About Ivy...

Updated April 2024

My friend in Texas, USA introduced me to postcrossing, I am excited to be a part of it. I live near Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I love national parks, amusement parks, Sundance Film Festival, comic con conventions, and dogs. My favorite season is fall, 2nd favorite is winter. My favorite holiday is Halloween, 2nd favorite is Christmas. Other favorites include: Claude Monet , Jane Austen, skiing/snowboarding, camping, the Oregon coast, Hawaii, reading, Disney, Marvel, and ice hockey.

I also love to travel. Internationally I have visited Mexico, Canada, Germany, France, England, Wales, and Italy. Within the USA I've been to more than half the states (AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MD, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WY), I have a goal to someday visit all 50. In my travels I always try to see as many national parks as I can. I have visited 1 in Wales, 6 in Canada, and 14 in the USA.

I would enjoy postcards of any type! Scenery of where you live, information about landmarks, culture, tourist attractions, pastimes, recipes, and favorite quotes I would be most interesting.

Things that will absolutely put a smile on my face include snowmen, snow, mountains, sea turtles, beaches, penguins, northern lights, fireflies, cows, pigs, giraffes, otters, dachshunds, sunflowers, anything nature, covered bridges, superheroes, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Star Wars/Trek, Mario Kart, and Animal Crossing. However, the best part of this project is learning more about people around the globe and that includes seeing the types of postcards everyone chooses to send, I will enjoy whatever you choose.

You can view some of my favorite postcards, postcard decorations, and postage stamps on instagram at @postaroundtheworld

In 2023 I made a goal to improve my (very beginners) French and I made a lot of progress! I intend to continue to work on this goal in 2024. If you speak French and would like to write your card to me in French I would appreciate that. Merci beaucoup! (21 cartes reçues en 2023!, 3 cartes reçues en 2024!)

(No postcards selling businesses, or other money-making ventures, please. I also prefer to have the postcard sent normally, not in an envelope. I saw on another postcrosser's profile how they like to see all the bumps and bruises the card gets while traveling, this is my preference as well.)
