About Julienne...

Hi Everyone, My name is Julienne but people often call me Jules, for short. I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. I was fortunate enough to spend my university years in New York City, where I lived for 5 years. I majored in business and worked briefly for a large investment bank. Unfortunately the economy in America was not good so I returned home to Manila. Now I work in our family business - we sell cars. Yes, it's a man's world. I've embraced this huge challenge. It has put me out of my comfort zone and I learn something new every day.

I'm a big believer of trying new things and/or pursuing curiosities so over the years I have become a jack of all trades, master of none. I have tried - photography, makeup, modeling, learning French and being a radio DJ. My favorite little hobby is to buy and sell designer bags and my old clothes/shoes/things online. Currently, I just became a host on AIRBNB and if you ever come to Manila, I hope I get the chance to host you.

I love animals. I'm obsessed with dogs. I have 5 babies of my own - two shihtzus, two terriers and one goofy dalmatian. I love them all very much but I have made a pact that my future dogs and pets will all be rescues. Adopt, not shop!

Over the years I have become more passionate about doing my part to save the environment. I know we sell cars which runs counter to this which is why I'm striving harder to make sure my decisions and life choices help the environment, even in a small way. So far I have - stopped purchasing bottled water (1 year and counting!) and stopped eating pork (5 years now). I am currently cutting back my use of straws, lids and plastic bags. I am also trying to go digital so that I cut back on paper consumption - emailed receipts and think before I print.

I have a deep love of traveling and a bad case of wanderlust. If I had to choose, I would say that my favorite countries are the USA, France, Thailand and Iceland (in no specific order). I am also a huge foodie and love to experience the world through meals. I love chasing Michelin Stars and enjoy a fancy meal as much as I enjoy sampling street fare.

Thanks for reading all of this.
To conclude...I would love to receive postcards from your country. What you write in it is up to you! However, if you need suggestions:
- Something about yourself
- Words of wisdom you live by / your favorite saying
- A joke
- A secret
- A dish/food I should try from your country / your favorite food
- A word in your language that you want to teach / share with me
- If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would be the first thing you would do and/or buy
- Share something on your bucket list
- Why you chose that postcard you are sending me - what is the significance of it?

As far as what kind of postcards, I have no preference - I am just happy to be a part of Postcrossing and I look forward to hearing from you.

<3, xoxo
Jules
