Hello my name is Heather. After 32 years of teaching physics & astronomy in secondary schools, I am now retired and love making things. I live in Preston, Lancashire about an hours drive from our UNESCO site the ‘Lake District’ I am interested in citizen science projects, astronomy and collect data on bird populations for the BTO. I am a vegetarian and support animal welfare charities. I grow cactus and like watching movies, reading and knitting. I have a Rescue dog, Ned a ginger cat Elwood and an adopted cat who moved in called Boss. My avatar is Jake, who was Elwood’s ( blues) brother who died some years ago now but is remembered very fondly.

For 2022 I am going to continue to collect postcards with lighthouses, but I also love postcards of birds (such as state birds from USA or your national bird), cats, Physics or astronomy. I also like where you live, landscapes, seascapes, lighthouse, mountains, skies, urban, tourist sites, maps as I like to day dream about places to visit and would love to travel more, but would be happy to receive art, plants, animals, flags or any really so long as they are not rude or offensive!
