About Victoria...

2024 UPDATE: I started learning French and would be glad to receive postcards in French if you speak it 😄

Hi, welcome! My name is Victoria but you can call me Vika. I am originally from Minsk, Belarus, but due to political repressions my husband and I had to move to Poland in 2022. If you're curious what's the situation is like, check out this doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KgDrcAEYbiMTvbwl3PTJcJOufzlb3Y8a8nMnnif8OCg/edit?usp=sharing

What are my interests, you ask? Well, I love science and video games! Astronomy is of great interest to me. Back at home, I had a large telescope and would often go stargazing. I also had a horse and competed in showjumping a bit. I can't say I do these things anymore, but I'd love to get back to them in the future. For now, my substitutes are jogging and hiking, I love to be in the nature.

I like to read and enjoy science fiction with a focus on realism and a touch of adventure, as well as classic detective fiction. Andy Weir is one of my favorite authors. I also like to watch movies and series. I am a huge Star Trek fan (TNG and DS9 are my favorites). And I think I have watched The Office (US) more than 5 times. I swear I remember soooo many lines from it. It is my comfort show, when I don't know what to watch or can't pick anything then it is time to watch The Office again 😁

So, the postcard. I'm always happy to see interesting stamps, stickers, and drawings. I've noticed many postcrossers didn't want to get postcards in envelopes, but I don't mind them. Send them however you like. I'd like to know you, tell me about yourself, your interests, your favorite books/music/movie, thoughts about something, or a favorite recipe (or name of the dish). I enjoy going through postcards I have received over the years and reading what people wrote. It is such a sweet feeling.

Here are some suggestions and ideas for cards - but really, any kind you'd like to send me will be just fine.

-animals and landscapes of your area (including farm animals)
-food
-flags
-space, planets, rockets, sci-fi
-roads/trains/railways
-aircraft (including military)
-dinosaurs/fossils/extinct life forms
-handmade
-something from your region
-something you think I would like
-something YOU like, surprise me ;)

I cannot wait to receive your postcard!
