About Dawn...

I live in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes, in a suburb of the capital city, Saint Paul. While we do have more than our fair share of lakes, I sadly don't swim well, nor do I own a boat or a lake cabin like many people here. Some people like to joke that we are really The Land of 10,000 Mosquitos which is also true although that number seems awfully low for the actual number of them that you encounter each summer.

My city is called Apple Valley although strangely, there really aren't a bunch of apple trees anywhere or even an orchard...mainly the apples are found at the grocery. I'm not sure what that says about my city. What about your city? What is it known for? What's the best thing, strangest thing, most outlandish or boring thing? I'd love to hear more about your city, the geographic area, the wildlife or your country. (Oh, my goodness if you have bison near you, please tell me all about them. I love bison! They are my favorite wild animal.)

I live with my family and several pets including one dog, two cats - an old fluffy cat and a wild, orange spotted kitten that is nicknamed Mr. Busy and a saltwater aquarium with lots of corals and one fish, a Sailfin Tang named Sally. My favorite activities include getting out in nature, hiking, photography, attending music concerts and making homemade postcards that I often decorate with stickers. I love stickers! Did I mention that I love stickers? Oh, yes, I do. I will admit that I sometimes make up a holiday out of thin air just so I can make postcards with fun stickers and send them to my nieces and nephews. I am especially guilty of making a big deal of Groundhog's Day as my nickname is Groundhog Girl.
