About Ulrike...

Hello!

I am a 56 years old trained Occupational Therapist. My 24 years old son is living and working in Berlin. I have moved to Bavaria almost 5 years ago.

After living in Scotland (Glasgow)and England (Coventry) in 1981 for a year, I moved on to Berlin (Germany) in 1982 for 30 years. 5 years ago have settled on the countryside in Bavaria in a small village close to the beautiful old city of Landshut.
Landshut was built during the Renaissance and has lots of beautiful historical sights. Every 4 years the "Landshut Wedding" from 1475 is held up for 4 weeks during July and takes place in the historical old city-part of Landshut. It re-events the wedding of the rich Herzog Georg of Bavaria with the Polish Herzogin Hedwig (Jadwiga). It is a great honour for many of Landshuts´ inhabitants to wear one of the beautiful robes during the festival, because only residents can take part of the spectacle. Many tourists from all over the wold come and watch.

I enjoy photography, my cat, drawing, doing patchwork and sewing, travelling, cooking and meeting interesting people.

I am happy to receive postcards from all over the world and would love to hear a little bit about your life.

I really enjoy cards that show a little bit of what your country looks like: landscapes, typical food or clothes, city views, villages, something about it´s traditions etc.

I don´t like glitter and so-called "Kitsch", "girlie"-stuff and "cute" animal pictures, so please send such cards to people who really enjoy that.

I also dislike ad-cards or cards with not even a "Hallo" or anything else written on.....thank you for respecting the idea of postcrossing!

Servus from Bavaria!
I´m looking forward to your card!
Ulrike
